Picnic in the Park

While I was thinking what to make for dinner today Dave said, lets go to the park and have a picnic with our dinner. What a fantastic idea!! The park was crazy but we found a nice little spot where no one was and set up camp. Kayden's favorite part of dinner was setting up the blanket with daddy (even though it was more of lay on the blank

et while dad ran around) and playing airplane with daddy as well.

We had so much fun we want to try and do it once a week, we'll see if we can keep up with it :)

Big boy on campus

Here is Kayden in the last month or so, he's gotten to be such a big boy and when I say boy I mean ALL boy. He loves rocks, dirt, water, anything that looks dangerous, leaves, and bugs. He does have a little sensitive side and gets his feelings hurt very easily, like if there is another kid and they take his toy or if he gets in trouble he cries as if he scraped his knee.

Lately his new fun thing to do is while mommy gets ready in the morning he will take everything and anything around and throw it down the stairs. This kid has got a great arm, some days it scares me and other days I'm proud to be his momma.

2 weeks ago Kayden and I went to California to visit my brother and sister so here are a few pictures I snapped while being there which includes our favorite professional cousin/care taker/babysitter/friend Dakota! (There were some really cute pictures that some how got deleted : ( There are also a ton of other pictures I've taken in the last month.

How do you stretch your love muscles?
Here are a few ideas:

1. Next time you go to the ice-cream parlor, pay for a few free cones to be given to the next kids to come in. Hide and watch.
2. Go through your junk, and give it to other people who will think its a treasure.
3. Buy a giant box of candy at the theatre, take one and pass it down the entire row to share.
4. Help someone put their groceries in their car
5. If there is a house or a garden that you love, stop and knock on the door and tell the people living there.
6. Go to the donut store and buy a huge box. Leave it for the garbage men, or the UPS Guy, or the mail carrier, or...
7. Doorbell ditch some brownies
8. Give someone a heart attack with cut up hearts and tape all over their door,
9. Go to the bank and get $20 in ones. Now walk around and give out a dollar at a time, for fun...
10. Give someone a bouquet of flowers today.

Romance: Stuff your sweethearts shoes with little love notes or thoughts. Place one of your shoes next to one of their's and say something like we are sole mates, or our shoes even want to be together...

Fill their backpack or purse with paper cut hearts so when they open it up it will be full of love...

I saw this on a friends blog and it made me want to do everything on this list so I thought I would share!

1 Year old and wiser too

Kayden has made it to the one year mark and we couldn't be happier! We have gone through a lot more milestones than we ever planned on with any kid of ours but nonetheless ecstatic we made it to one year and have milestones to look back on.

On the 21st we had a mini party for Kayden (since we moved to Arizona and have no family or friends it consisted of Kayden, Dave, and me) with a lot more presents than we expected. Kay got so many new toys and cars that make noise that they are the first thing he grabs for when he wakes up in the morning. He also got clothes and books. Thanks to Gramma and Grampa Jones & Beckstrand for the wonderful toys!!

Since K-Bear has embarked on this new age he knows he's so much cooler so he laughs at everything he says, climbs up on anything possible (we need a mini jungle gym just for his size), likes to pull out every piece of clothing he owns of his drawers, tries to talk, shares everything with anyone, and NEVER will sit still unless he wants to read a book and we'll make it through about half of it.

His favorite show is still Special Agent OSO (the only show he will sit and watch all the way through, only because he likes Palm Pilot, the girl), the Backyardigains, and Charlot's Web. He loves music, fruit, sitting in front of his heater, clothes, the swings, and mostly playing any flying game with daddy.

We love our Kay Bay and couldn't be happier with how far he has come. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Pay It Forward Pictures

Here are some pictures from the Pay It Forward Project. I was so busy packing and moving I really haven't had a chance to update any of my blog so here is some pictures of how the project turned out.

It was great to see everything come together and be able to see how may bags we created with all of your help. People started coming to help at about 7 pm and within 25 minuets we had 350 bags completed and boxed!

It felt great to be giving back! I'm so excited for the parents to receive these bags and just know they aren't alone when they go through hard things. A big thanks again to everyone who has donated time, money, and effort to this project, it was a huge success!!

Heart appts and Warm weather in the forecast

The day has come where Kayden is finally in the clear for weight gain! For those of you who don't know about heart babies, weight gain is the number one indicator to know if things are going well with the patched heart or not. Ever since we left PCMC they have been concerned about his growth and that his heart was still working too hard at doing the normal function of things. The doctors kept asking what are you feeding him, how much, do more.

Kay had a Cardiologist appointment, and after all his routine check up things (weight, height, echo, x ray) Dr. Williams came in and said "he's big and growing like a moose!" Well I loved hearing that since I usually hear, he's too little for his age.

Weight: 17.4

Height: 27"

Echo: Fabulous with a little murmur

X-ray: No lesions in the heart repair.

Dr. Williams said in a future date Kayden will

need something done about his mitral valve and his aortic valve because they are still small and ringed but we are thinking that will happen more along the lines of 5-10 years.

Breaking News

Warm weather is long gone in Rexburg, Idaho but for Dave and I it seems it's just around the corner. Dave got a job with a nation wide company called Hensel Phelps and we will be moving to Phoenix, Arizona in a month. He'll be working on the Sky Harbor Airport and for those of you who don't know Dave, he loves airplanes so this will be a dream for him. He starts the job January 4 which leaves us a very short time to find a house to rent and pack up our things but we'll make it work.

We're sad to leave all our friends we've made over the years we've lived here, but excited for a home to call our own and a job that is stable. Lucky for me Alligiant Air has a straight flight from Phoenix to Rexburg that is pretty cheap so Kayden and I can come visit my parents and all my friends when Dave has to work really late for a week or so. We're extremely grateful for the job and excited for the year round warm weather.
