Racoon Tail's

I had to make a homemade toy for my infant and toddler class and i chose to make an animal tail. Do not ask me where i got my inspiration to do such a thing because it just came to me when I was thinking "what is something easy and fast to make?"

Turns out this simple and easy toy makes hilarious moments in a marriage! Love you Dave

25 Weeks

At 25 weeks I am finally getting a belly but do not be fooled! Kayden is growing at a rapid pace and LOVES to hang out super low, so low that i think my bladder area (where he likes to hang out) is larger then my stomach!

I have gained about 17 pounds now and love hot chocolate, juice, any kind of fruit, zucchini, squash, and yogurt! Kayden is just like his dad, he is a gymnast. Somersaults, flips, hand stands, karate kicks, you name it- he does it. However, Kayden is a lot llike mommy right now and loves to sleep at night : )

Our last appointment was on the 13th of October and we got news from Doctor Belfort, who comes up from the U, that we will be seeing him every week now at EIRMC in Idaho because of the lesion in his heart which sometimes leads to heart failure. However our big guy's heart beat is super strong and they aren't too worried about that- but just to make sure I'll be seeing him now every week including going down to Primary's every 3-4 weeks.

Kayden's Big Heart

We got in to Primary's on October 6th which was amazing!! First off our growing boy has something called valvular aortic stenosis, which is a narrowing around the entrance to the aorta.

The black part that is labeled 1. and circled is where that narrowing is and basically cuts the valve in half so the pressure is really high until it starts to get bigger then the pressure is low.

Second our sweet Kayden has another issue but since Puchalski has only seen me once now and has not taken any ultrasounds on his heart before, he couldn't exactly tell what the problem is however he did give us a best and worse case scenario. Best case is something called coarctation of the aorta.

So as you can see in the picture, the arch spot is narrowed and this is a "simple" procedure (I don't know what heart surgery is simple but hey, it's always a good thing to hear when your doctor says it). Survival rates are high with this surgery and our doctor was optimistic that this was the main problem with his heart.

However, third, he was very straight forward with us, which we appreciated, and told us another possibility could be something called hypoplastic left heart syndrome (the worse case scenario).

So this occurs during the heart's development, parts of the left side of the heart (mitral valve, left ventricle aortic valve, and aorta) do not develop completely. The left side of the heart is unable to send enough blood to the body.

So there is the long update of his heart. I am 24 weeks and for now see some docter (between my EIRMC specialist that comes up from the U, my regular OB here in Rexburg, and Dr. Puchalski down in Salt Lake) every week or every other week depending on schedules. We'll be going back down to Primary's Nov. 3 to get a tour of the ICU as well as meet our surgen and get a few more ultrasounds.

Thanks again for all your support, prayers, phone calls, texts, cookies, baskets of goodies, visits, and great talks. We love you!

Good New or Bad News... You Decide

I went to my specialist for the VCI condition and great news... the cord isn't completely velementous which means things are looking good there. They will still moniter his growth but it's a lot less serious than what it could have been. On the down hill baby "Kayden" (for the time being) has a heart defect. The great news is I have the oppertunity to be working with the number one hospital in the nation, Primary Children's Hospital down in Utah, as well as working with one of the best doctors in the nation, Dr. Puchalski.

As of right now Dave and I are a little lost on everything and how to explain what the problem is but we are hoping to be squeezed in to the hospital for a visit Oct. 6 but we really have to pray that happens because they are booked like crazy. But during that visit we'll learn A LOT more and the extense of everything.

Thanks for all of your prayers and thoughts and I know they make a difference because miracles happen each day for Dave and I and baby Kayden! Love you

21 weeks

I'm 20 weeks here but it's all the same, I'm just a little but bigger now... not by much

A day In the Woods

We went up to Dave's parents cabin in Island park for Labor day to crash the party of his parents, Heather and Doug, and Christine and Devin and we had so much fun!

Before we went I was looking on Dave's sister and brother n law's blog and they went up to island park a couple of weeks before us and found this awesome rope swing! So thanks to Aaron and Michelle we found this hidden wonder and had a bast!

Dave really wanted to try and do a flip after scaring me half to death he achieved it

After one of Doug's swings, he forgot to get the rope out from between his legs : (

Poor Devin couldn't seem to ever land feet going in first

It looked so much fun I could not let this opportunity pass so I went to the bottom of the hill and swung off where the water started hitting the hill

Christine also saw how much fun this looked and couldn't pass the chance

Dave tried to be a Ballerina and landed a 720, I tried to upload it but it was uploading for 5 hours!! So I deleted it

Mr. Clean

I am all about a great deal, so when Dave and I found out I was pregnant I started looking for a good deal on ksl and craigslist immediately . Well I found it! We got a car seat and stroller travel system plus a playpen with a bassinet and changing station all for $140!
I called the women up and asked all the good questions... " Condition, How many children have used it (1), any problems, pets, etc." But I forgot to ask one question, the most important one! Does anyone smoke in the house! I made Dave call back as if he was someone different interested in it. They said no... Hallelujah!

We brought it home and you wouldn't believe it... It smelled like smoke!!! Apperently they smoke but not IN the house. I was so mad but my wonderful mother-in-law washed what we could and then Dave and I just washed the rest by hand.!!!

Mr. Clean Works Wonders, No smoke smell.. AT ALL!!!
